Science Learning at the Zoo: Evaluating Children’s Developing Understanding of Animals and their Habitats


Hi guys, I found this article to be an interesting, innovative, and fun way to understand representational tansformation in children. The microgenetic approach clearly has the potential to study these changes in a variety of different contexts from a variety of different triggers. Given the ethical concerns delinated in your introduction, I wonder whether the educational programme at the zoo sought to teach the children anything about the ethical care of animals, or childrens responsibility towards the environment?
